The Coronavirus pandemic, as it has been called, is not the “great equalizer.” Rather, it is more a “great magnifier.”

As America continues to brace against and prepare for what comes next during this coronavirus pandemic, a simmering nationwide discussion is effectively highlighting that which those dedicated to health equity have always known:

My godmother’s sister – a woman whom I called my Aunt – died in childbirth at University Hospital in Newark. And though it was the same hospital in which she worked as a nurse, when she said something felt wrong, no one listened.
